All friends of AiM are welcome at our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, July 19 @ 6pm. This will be followed by a buffet, film showing by Lefty Caligari, and readings by the I aM Poets.
The work of Lefty Caligari embraces much of the ethos of AiM (Artists in Mind) in that his unique lexicon of filmic images and sound grow from the bed of his experiences with mental distress. The creative space within which to develop ones voice, ones language, is central to the supposition that creativity is the immune system of the mind, as declared by AiM founder John Holt.
Leftys unique vision is an antidote to his suffering. His films allow him the mechanism to express and articulate issues bound up with his experiences of mental illness.
